Dr. Gene De Lisa *insert pretentious
title*, Rockhopper Technologies, Inc.
Gene De Lisa has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at the University of North Texas and Trenton State College. He has been programming in C and UNIX since 1984, Java since 1995, and C++ since 1988. He also has done extensive software development using Objective-C and smalltalk. Since 1988, he has been programming in the X Window System; NeXTSTEP since 1990; and Motif since 1991. Prior to providing consulting and training expertise, he had fifteen years of software development experience at several companies from small startups to multi-national corporations such as Eastman Kodak. He has written everything from pSos microcode to dsp assembly language to UNIX device drivers. He is the Co-author of a book on C Programming published by McGraw-Hill and is a frequent contributor to technical journals. He also maintains an active lecture schedule at many technical conferences. In 1999 he delivered a technical session at JavaOne. He currently does a mixture of project management, mentoring, software architecture, course development, teaching, and software development both at RTI and as a consultant. He has authored numerous courses on advanced Java technologies, OOAD, C++, and CORBA, which draws on his extensive background in object oriented application development He has taught technical courses many times for a variety of companies in the financial, telecommunications and aerospace industries, and consistently receives the highest ratings in student evaluations. He also advises companies on how they can apply Java and J2EE to benefit from it in their application domains. These courses consistently receive the highest ratings, and are licensed for use by several other major training organizations. Dr. De Lisa is consistently rated outstanding in student evaluations of his teaching and his ability to help students apply the classroom knowledge to their own projects. Dr. De Lisa has an outstanding ability to communicate his knowledge, and to draw upon his broad computer science background to assist others in applying new technologies to their projects. |
